This comes weeks after four individuals voluntarily surrendered illegal firearms to police at Embobut Police Station, continuing a community-driven effort to improve regional security. This initiative, led by the National Police Service (NPS), aims to reduce armed conflict and promote peace by encouraging residents to turn in illicit weapons.
Recently, two more people handed over AK-47 rifles, one loaded with ammunition. Since the disarmament drive began, 314 illegal firearms have been recovered in the county. The NPS praised community cooperation and local leaders for supporting these efforts and urged anyone with illegal firearms to surrender them to help ensure lasting peace and safety.
