3 things that should never be normal in a healthy relationship

Every relationship has its difficult moments. Couples can disagree, need space, or have different expectations, but some patterns should not become part of everyday life.
A healthy relationship is not about being perfect. It is about feeling valued, heard and respected while both people make an effort to build something that works for them.
1. Having to hide your happiness
You should not feel like you need to make yourself smaller to keep your partner comfortable. This can happen when you stop sharing good news, avoid talking about your achievements or feel guilty for enjoying things outside the relationship.
A partner may not always understand every interest or celebrate every achievement in the same way you do. However, you should still be able to enjoy your friendships, hobbies, career progress and personal wins without constantly worrying that your happiness will cause an argument.

A healthy relationship should give you room to remain your own person. Being in love does not mean giving up the parts of your life that make you happy.
2. Having to beg for basic effort
Relationships require effort from both people. One partner should not always be the person starting conversations, making plans, checking in, apologising or trying to solve every problem.
There may be times when one person is busy or dealing with other responsibilities. However, if you constantly have to ask for attention, affection, communication or quality time, the situation can become exhausting.
Both partners should show through their actions that the relationship matters to them. Effort may look different for each person, but it should not feel like one person is doing all the work.
3. Feeling afraid to speak honestly
You should be able to tell your partner when something is bothering you without constantly worrying about their reaction. Difficult conversations are part of relationships, and couples will not always agree on everything.

The important thing is being able to discuss problems instead of keeping quiet just to avoid conflict. If you regularly hide your feelings, opinions or concerns because you are afraid of what might happen when you speak, that is not a healthy pattern.
A healthy relationship should allow both people to communicate honestly. You may not always get the answer you want, but you should feel that your concerns can be raised and discussed.
