First Lady Rachel Ruto showered Martin Luther Jr’s daughter, Bernice King with gifts during President Ruto’s official US visit on Monday.
In one of his immediate itineraries, Ruto’s entourage visited the famous King’s Center where he was welcomed by CEO Bernice King.
Speaking at the facility President Ruto challenged his audience to embrace the adversities that individuals like Martin Luther King Jr and Jimmy Carter went through to achieve social justice.
“As we reflect on their tireless devotion to the pursuit of a better world, we reaffirm our focus to building societies that are not only resilient in the face of adversity but also inclusive and just,” Ruto said in a statement on his X.
First Lady Gifts
The ceremony at King’s Center for non-violent social change in Atlanta, Georgia took a joyous turn when the First Lady brought out Maasai Beadwork chain, bangles, a leather bag and an assortment of tea and coffee from Kenya to gift Bernice.
President Ruto landed in the US on Monday for an official visit in the company of several state dignitaries, journalists and selected individuals.
