Content creator YoungBoySido has questioned what he describes as unfair dating standards Kenyan men face, following the circulation of viral videos involving a Russian man in Kenya.
In a reaction shared on Instagram on Saturday, February 14, 2026, YoungBoySido compared the lengthy “talking stages” many Kenyan men say they endure to the seemingly swift interactions shown in the trending clips.

“Kenya ndio uteke dem ndio aende kwako… mmependa mtu wangu hauezi tekwa na lines tatu na unaenda na mimi umeniitisha adi barua ya chief,” he said.
He humorously claimed that local men are often subjected to intense vetting, joking that some women ask for everything from a birth certificate to a certificate of good conduct before agreeing to meet.
He contrasted this with the viral videos of the Russian man, where interactions appeared much quicker. “Ni mbayaa,” he remarked, using his catchphrase to emphasise how unfair he found the situation.
He also questioned whether skin colour played a role in the difference, noting that the Russian man seemed to get an easier reception despite saying very little, while Kenyan men face prolonged talking stages.
The controversy
The man at the centre of the controversy is a Russian national known on social media as Yaytseslav. Over recent weeks, short clips attributed to him have gone viral across platforms such as X, TikTok and WhatsApp.
In the videos, he is seen approaching women in public places, including streets, markets, shopping malls and outside churches, engaging them in conversation and filming their interactions.
There are claims circulating online that he was using specialised Ray-Ban Meta glasses or smart glasses to record the encounters. These glasses are believed to contain hidden cameras that allow him to film without making the presence of a camera obvious to the women he approaches.
Many viewers believe the discreet recording contributed to some of the women being unaware that their interactions were being captured for public distribution.
After arranging initial meetings, some of the recordings show the man meeting women later in private spaces such as rented apartments.
He then continued filming encounters in those settings before posting or sharing the clips online.
