Vera Sidika: I deserve billionaires and politicians, but I’ll date who I want

Vera Sidika has responded to ongoing online conversations about her dating life, saying she has the right to choose whoever she wants to date.
She addressed claims on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, that she should only date wealthy or powerful men, saying people should stop controlling her personal choices. Her comments came after discussions about her relationship trended online.
She said she has seen different opinions about her dating preferences and decided to speak out. According to her, people keep suggesting whom she should or should not date, which she finds unnecessary.
“YES!!! I deserve Billionaires and politicians, then again, I also deserve to date whoever I wanna date,” Vera Sidika said.

She explained that people have constantly commented on her relationships regardless of who she is seen with. She said at times she has been judged for dating older men, while at other times she is criticised for different choices. She believes the criticism changes depending on her situation.
“Hey guys, nimekua nikiona stories ziki trend online. And I am like oh my gosh, let it rest, okay?” she said.
Dating choices and public reaction
Vera Sidika, who recently said that she chooses fame over inner peace, insisted she does not understand why people are so focused on her personal relationships. She explained that she often sees opinions suggesting she should only date specific types of people, which she disagrees with. She said she finds it strange that her choices create so much discussion.
“Is there a problem with me dating whoever I wanna date? Is it a problem?” she said.

She added that the reactions from people sometimes feel negative and emotional.
“Mbona mnakua broken? Mbona mko na machungu? I don’t understand why,” she said.
She also pointed out that public opinion about her relationships keeps changing over time. She said that when she previously dated older men, she was criticised differently compared to now. She believes people often switch opinions depending on trends and assumptions.
“Oh, anapenda vijana wadogo, anapenda ma Gen Z, oh she needs to be dating billionaires,” she said.
Vera Sidika concluded by saying she is now focused on living her life without pressure from outside voices.
