Tutaendelea hata kama tunacrawl: Eric Omondi vows after injuries on day 1 of walk to Mombasa
Comedian Eric Omondi has vowed to soldier on with his walk from Nairobi to Mombasa after suffering injuries on the first day of his walk that will cover 486 kilometres.
The philanthropist covered 67 kilometres on the first day after walking from Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium to Machakos.
The gruelling walk left him with injuries on the leg and hip, but the comedian has vowed to soldier on, even if it means crawling for the rest of the journey.
In an update on his socials on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Omondi remained optimistic about accomplishing his mission despite the injuries.

“LAZIMA TUTAFIKA MOMBASA HATA KAMA NI BY FIRE!!! Today I tore/Injured Ligaments on my left leg and hip, but Kesho tutaendelea hata Kama tuna crawl,” Omondi said.
This loosely translates to: We must reach Mombasa through any means possible. Today I tore/injured ligaments on my left leg and hip, but the walk continues tomorrow even if it means crawling.”
Celebrities join Eric Omondi in strong show of support
Omondi was flagged off at Nyayo Stadium by Daddy Owen, who also prayed for his mission.
Celebrities joined him at various points of the journey, declaring support for his noble initiative and enhancing the publicity and the buzz generated by the daring initiative.

Jeff Koinange, Churchill, Amber Ray, MC Tricky, Khaligraph Jones, Carol Radul, and Daddy Owen are among those who joined him on the way.
Why Eric Omondi is walking to Mombasa
The comedian has been using his influence and status to assist those in need, with the support of well-wishers, his loyal supporters of his charity, dubbed Team Sisi Kwa Sisi.
The walk to Mombasa is part of the comedian’s push to expand impact and offer sustainable solutions to Kenyans in need.
The initiative is to raise funds for the construction of a rescue and help center.
“TEAM SISI KWA SISI I am walking from Nairobi to Mombasa to raise Funds to build The SISI KWA SISI HELP AND RESCUE CENTRE,” the comedian said in a recent update.
Upon completion, the facility will have a warehouse, two ambulances, a clinic and a free secondary school.
