TikToker Nyakwar Janeko has revealed that she once contemplated taking her own life after her prediction that excessive drinking would be the cause of Brian Chiras’ death came to pass.

Speaking during a TikTok live on Saturday, February 21, 2026, Nyakwar recalled how devastated she was following Chira’s death, especially after old videos of her warning him about his lifestyle resurfaced online and quickly went viral.

“When Chira died, I was so down. I even thought about taking poison to end my life because my voice went viral, and old videos of me warning him that if he didn’t stop drinking alcohol, we would bury him soon resurfaced,” she shared.

She explained that in the past, during a live session while she was intoxicated, she had cautioned Chira that if he did not stop drinking alcohol, it could lead to his death.

According to her, she had even told him that people would end up going to his home to bury him if he continued with the habit.

Nyakwar said that when news of Chira’s death emerged just weeks later, the clips of her making those remarks spread widely across social media, drawing intense public attention and criticism.

“I remember once going live with him while I was drunk, and I gave him the tough words that if he didn’t stop drinking, we would come to his place to bury him,” she added.

The backlash took a heavy toll on her, as many people on platforms such as Facebook began to criticise and judge her harshly over the remarks. She admitted that the situation left her feeling overwhelmed, guilty, and emotionally drained.

Nyakwar revealed that at her lowest point, she felt so burdened by the viral videos and public reaction that she considered ending her life, blaming herself for what had happened.

“Just a few weeks later, he died. The videos of me saying that went viral, and I wished death upon myself because of it. I used to get on Facebook, and people would critique me harshly,” she shared.

Untimely passing

Chira, who was among the most popular Kenyans on the video-sharing platform, died on March 16, 2024, following a hit-and-run road accident in the Karuri area of Kiambu County.

He was fatally struck by a speeding lorry around 4 am while walking home from a night out, with a post-mortem revealing he died from multiple injuries and blunt force trauma.
