Rapudo defends Amber Ray club hosting, says it’s just business

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Rapudo dismissed criticism surrounding her appearances in nightlife events, saying the work is professional, well-paying, and often misunderstood by the public.
Rapudo said Amber Ray was already working as a club host when he met her, and he saw no reason to question or change that.
“When I met Amber, she was hosting. That was her job,” he said, adding that people often misunderstand what club hosting actually involves.
He explained that her role is mainly to appear at events, interact with guests, and create a lively atmosphere, not the assumptions often made online.
Just business work
According to Rapudo, club hosting is a legitimate business activity and should not be judged differently from other entertainment jobs.
He argued that the work is time-bound and professional, noting that hosts are typically booked for short appearances and paid accordingly.
“She goes there, stays for a short time, interacts with people, and leaves. That is a job,” he said, insisting there is nothing wrong with it.
He also revealed that Amber Ray is among the most paid club hosts in Kenya, pointing out that her popularity and influence make her highly in demand for nightlife events.
Calls out double standards
Rapudo also questioned the criticism directed at Amber Ray, pointing out what he described as double standards in how female entertainers are judged.
He compared her situation to global celebrities in entertainment, saying public figures are often accepted abroad for similar lifestyle choices but judged locally.
He maintained that Amber Ray is a businesswoman who works with different clients and industries, and should be allowed to continue her career without interference.
Rapudo said he fully supports Amber Ray’s choices, describing her as an independent woman who was already established in her career before their relationship.
He added that his role is not to change her, but to support her as long as she is not doing anything wrong.
