Paul Clement: Inside the journey of a gospel voice shaping East Africa
By William Muthama, May 3, 2026Paul Clement is a Tanzanian gospel artiste and worship minister whose music has grown to influence audiences across East Africa.
Known for his powerful worship style and emotional delivery, he has built a reputation as one of the region’s most impactful gospel voices.
Born and raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Paul Clement grew up in a Christian family where music and faith played a central role in his life.
His passion for worship began early, but his journey into ministry became clearer in 2006 when he gave his life to Christ. That moment, he often reflects, shaped the direction of his future and his calling in music ministry.
“Paul Clement speaks the word of God through powerful praise, worship and inspirational songs,” he describes himself on his YouTube page.
Rise in gospel music career
He officially began his music journey in 2008 when he joined his local church worship team. This environment helped him develop his vocal ability and deepen his understanding of worship.
Years later, in 2013, he released his first live project titled Atendaye ni Mungu, which introduced his sound to a wider audience and marked the beginning of his professional gospel career.

Over time, Paul Clement released songs that resonated strongly with listeners, including Amenifanyia Amani, Usiyeshindwa, and Hemani.
His music is known for blending contemporary worship with African rhythms and Swahili lyrics, creating a sound that feels both spiritual and culturally rooted.
Influence and collaborations
His influence expanded beyond Tanzania as he collaborated with artistes and worship teams in Kenya and other parts of East Africa.
In April 2026, he released Muite, a worship collaboration featuring Eve Nyasha Ngoloma and Kambua that gained strong traction in Kenyan churches.
The same period also saw the release of Holy Spirit featuring Janice Wanjiru/Kioko, a deeply spiritual track widely used in prayer and worship sessions.

He has also worked closely with Neema Gospel Choir on songs such as Sijawahi Shinda and Bado Naishi, as well as collaborations with Manolo, Mercy Masika and Kanjii Mbugua on Afrobeats worship projects, and various live Kenyan worship teams.
These partnerships have strengthened his position as one of the most embraced Tanzanian gospel voices in Kenya.
