Azeezah Hashim questions streamer Vindee’s arrest as she asks what he did wrong

Media personality Azeezah Hashim has spoken out following the arrest of popular streamer Vindee, expressing concern over the incident and questioning the circumstances that led to his detention.
Speaking on the matter, Azeezah said she was troubled by videos and reports circulating online showing the content creator being arrested while allegedly carrying out his usual streaming activities in public.
According to her, the incident raised questions about how content creators are treated and whether the action taken against Vindee was justified.
While acknowledging that there were other events taking place on the streets at the time, Azeezah said the arrest of the streamer stood out to her and left her seeking answers.
She explained that from what she observed, Vindee appeared to be going about his work when the situation unfolded.
“I know people were on the street, but the only thing I want to talk about is the fact that I saw something quite unfortunate. A popular streamer, Vindee, was on the street, just streaming, innocently, streaming innocently,” she said.
The media personality admitted that she did not fully understand what led to the arrest and questioned what offence the streamer had committed.
“Yeah, I don’t understand what happened.” she said.
Concerns over rights and the law
Azeezah went on to argue that, based on her understanding, the arrest did not appear to be in line with the law. She expressed concern about the implications such actions could have on individuals who rely on digital content creation as part of their work. “But how do you just say yeah, and last time I checked it was enforced that they shouldn’t. So, it’s not in accordance with the law. It’s very wrong. It’s very wrong,” she stated.
The presenter further described the incident as unfortunate and said it was disappointing to witness such actions from institutions tasked with serving the public.
“No, that’s just messed up, to be honest. That’s just messed up. So, where does humanity go to when it comes to people wearing that uniform or being put in positions of power? Where does your humanity go to?” he said.
Her remarks have since sparked discussion online, with some social media users echoing her concerns while others called for more information regarding the circumstances surrounding Vindee’s arrest. As conversations continue, many are awaiting further clarification on what transpired and whether any official explanation will be provided regarding the incident.
