Pastor Kanyari opens up about pressure to take custody of his children
By Valerian Khakayi, December 14, 2025Salvation Healing Ministry founder, pastor Victor Kanyari, has opened up about the pressure he is facing regarding the custody of his children, Sky and Danny, following the death of his ex-wife, Betty Bayo.
Speaking during a church service on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Kanyari revealed that the same people who once criticised him are now pushing him to take full control.
In addition, the pastor described the situation as a constant battle, saying he is being targeted online.
He further emphasised that he has chosen to remain silent and observe as the situation unfolds, highlighting the pressure and scrutiny he faces from former critics
“Kanyari anapiganwa vita 24 hours ata sahizi TikTokers and Facebookers wananipiga vita wanasema mbona hachukui watoto wake? endea watoto wako Kanyari maana wanataka kuanza kupambana na mimi kwa vita na mimi nanyamaza na waangalia,” Kanyari revealed.
While he has not yet made any custody decisions, Kanyari says he occasionally spends time with his children.
“Nimekuwa na watoto wangu, on Thursday, walinipigia simu ati hawana nguo za kuvaa, lakini wako nazo ni vile wanataka nguo zengine, juu mimi sipendi mambo mengi tulienda shopping na nikawanunulia nguo za Ksh78 thousand,” he added.
Being misunderstood
The man of God went on to say that sometimes people do not understand him. He recalled that the other day, they asked why he was posting screenshots of messages between him and Betty Bayo on Facebook after her death.
“Sometimes watu hawanielewangi, juzi walisema mbona anaweka message kwa Facebook kwa vitu alikuwa akifanya nikasema siwezi kosa kuweka kwa sababu mtasema sikuwa nafanya maana mimi najua wanadamu,” Kanyari explained.
Doting father
Kanyari, through a live Facebook session with TikToker Obidan Dela on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, brushed off claims that he will not be able to care for the children.
“I am a good father. I may not be a good husband, but I am a good father,” he said
He further expressed confidence that he can raise them well.
“Sky na Danny nawapenda, na wataishi maisha mazuri kuliko yenye walikua wanakaa,” he added.
The self-proclaimed prophet also emphasised that he cannot give out money to strangers online while his own children suffer.
“Si mnaona sijakua na drama? Watu wananiingilia nikiwa nimenyamaza,” Kanyari noted.
