Outrage as Mosiria rescues boy abused by parents

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has expressed outrage after rescuing a young boy who had been subjected to severe abuse by his own father and stepmother.
In a statement shared via his X account on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Mosiria did not hold back his anger, questioning how a parent could turn against their own child in such a brutal way.
“How do you beat your own child like an animal? A father harming his own son and allowing a stepmother to abuse the child he is meant to protect,” he said.
According to Mosiria, the boy was found in a disturbing condition, with a fractured leg, an injured hand, and visible marks all over his body. He revealed that the abuse went beyond beatings, alleging that the child had at times been tied up before being assaulted.
“I rescued this boy after they left him with a fractured leg, an injured hand, and marks all over his body. They would even tie him up and beat him,” he added.
Mosiria reported that two are currently being held at Kasarani Police Station as investigations continue.
Mosiria, who has increasingly used his platform to highlight social issues, brushed off criticism from some quarters, insisting that his actions are driven by the need to protect vulnerable children.
“Call it clout if you want but I will continue using my platform to create awareness and protect children from such cruelty,” he stated.
This comes weeks after he condemned an incident where a young girl was beaten by several people using canes, saying violence against children is never acceptable.
In a statement shared on Instagram on March 6, 2026, Mosiria reacted after a video showed the child being whipped repeatedly by adults.
“No child deserves this kind of beating, even if he has committed a grave mistake. Violence against a child can never be justified. As a society, we must protect our children, guide them, and correct them humanely and lawfully,” Mosiria stated.
He said such brutality shows adults are failing in their responsibility to care for children.
“Brutality only destroys lives and reflects a failure of responsibility from the adults involved. Every child deserves dignity, protection, and a chance to be corrected without cruelty,” he added.
Mosiria also urged the public to discipline children in ways that respect their rights and warned that accepting violence could make abuse seem normal.
