Outrage as Mosiria highlights brutal child abuse case

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has spoken out after responding to a disturbing child abuse case in Thika, describing the incident as both heartbreaking and unacceptable.

The vocal social advocate shared details of the case on his X account on Friday, March 27, 2026, bringing attention to the harsh reality of abuse many children face in silence.

He revealed that the victim, a young boy, had been assaulted by his stepfather, leaving him with multiple injuries.

“Tonight was yet another heartbreaking night. We encountered a disturbing case of child abuse where a stepfather had brutally beaten his stepson, leaving him with injuries all over his body. No child deserves to go through such pain and cruelty.”

Following the incident, the person of interest was arrested and taken into custody, with authorities confirming that investigations are ongoing. The case is currently being handled at Makongeni Police Station in Thika, as efforts to ensure justice for the child continue.

Mosiria noted that action had already been taken against the alleged abuser.

“The suspect has been arrested and is currently being held at Makongeni Police Station in Thika as investigations continue.”

Addressing criticism that often trails his activism, Mosiria dismissed claims that his work is driven by publicity, maintaining that his focus remains on protecting vulnerable members of society. He made it clear that he will continue to document and speak out on such cases, regardless of public opinion.

He defended his actions, insisting they are rooted in awareness and accountability.

“To those calling this PR or clout-chasing—say what you will. I will not stop. I will continue to stand up, document, and speak out against such acts to create awareness and protect the vulnerable in our society.”

He stressed the seriousness of the issue, urging the public to treat child abuse with the urgency it deserves rather than reducing it to an online debate.
