Onyango Tate: Stop being comfortable living a broke life

In an Instagram post on Monday, May 4, 2026, Tate spoke about his personal journey, claiming he moved from being unable to pay rent at 18 to making his first million by 21.
He added that by 22, he had acquired a Mercedes-Benz, using the story to emphasise consistency, discipline, and ambition.
Tate described what he called a rapid rise from financial hardship to wealth, presenting his experience as proof that determination can change one’s circumstances.
“At age 18, I could not pay my rent… at age 21, I made my first million,” he said.
He used this as an example to push the idea that success is possible for anyone willing to commit to growth and hard work.
Rejecting comfort in struggle
Tate questioned why people remain comfortable in difficult financial situations, arguing that many settle too easily for an average life.
He challenged what he described as a mindset of acceptance toward poverty, urging viewers to rethink how they approach their financial situation.
“I wonder how you sit there, contented with your brokenness,” he said.
He emphasised the importance of hunger and consistency in achieving success, saying people must push beyond comfort zones to reach higher goals.
Tate added that it is natural for people to want more in life, and that ambition should be embraced rather than suppressed.
“You must be hungry to achieve more… never settle for average life,” he said.
Tate also linked lifestyle quality to financial capability, arguing that the life people want depends on their ability to earn and sustain income.
He encouraged persistence and discipline, saying improvement in financial status requires effort and focus.
