Comedian Oga Obinna has questioned the timing of public support following Sammy Kioko’s hospitalisation, saying people often show up only when things get worse.

He raised concern shortly after Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka visited Kioko in the hospital and called for calm and fair handling of his case. Obinna said earlier support could have made a difference before the situation escalated.

“Oooh wow, like I always say, WATU HUSUBIRI UKUFE NDIO WASIMAME KWA MATANGA,” Obinna said on Thursday, April 3, 2026.

He explained that leaders and the public should intervene earlier rather than wait for crises. He added that intervention should not be driven by attention but by the need to help at the right time. He said such moments should push people to reflect on how they respond to others in distress.

“He coulda called Governor kitambo before Sammie broke his leg. Anyway, Good PR,” he said.

Timing of support

Obinna maintained that support should not wait until someone is already suffering. He explained that early action can prevent situations from getting worse. He added that people should learn to check in on others before problems grow bigger.

He said the trend of showing up during hard times alone sends the wrong message. He explained that consistent support matters more than reaction during emergencies. He highlighted that real care should be shown both in good and bad times.

Meanwhile, comedian Nasra Yusuf has continued to update the public on Sammy Kioko’s health. She asked people to keep him in their prayers as he recovers. She explained that she is closely following his progress and sharing updates when she can.

“I am heading back to the hospital to check on him and get more details,” Nasra said.

She said the past day had been very difficult as she tried to understand his condition. She explained that she had left the hospital the previous night but needed to return for more information. She added that she wants to gather clear details before giving a full update.

Nasra also spoke after videos showed Kioko being wheeled into the hospital while in pain. She said the situation has caused concern, and she is doing her best to stay informed.
