Obinna involved in altercation with Useful Idiot over assault
By Charles Ouma, January 27, 2026Media personality Steve Thompson Maghana, widely known as Oga Obinna, has been dragged into a new controversy with popular comedian Useful Idioty saying that the latter gave instructions which resulted in him being assaulted by Obinna’s aide.
The pair was involved in an altercation with Idioty, lamenting bitterly about how Obinna’s aide assaulted him after a show on Monday, January 27, 2026.

The video shows Idioty hurrying towards where Obinna is standing while speaking on his phone.
Idioty’s arrival made Obinna hang up the call to engage him, with the comedian speaking at the top of his voice, stating that he had been assaulted with instructions received from the media personality.
“Wacha kushout (stop shouting), Obinna says, attempting to calm down the comedian, who proceeds to table his claims that he had been assaulted.
“Sishout, nasema ukweli huyu msee wako si amenipiga (I’m not shouting, I’m saying the truth that your guy has assaulted me,” Idioty responded.
Obinna claims it was a joke
The stand-up comedian sought to know more, with Idioty responding that he was assaulted on instructions received during Obinna’s show when he hosted the comedian.
He assured Idioty that the statement that resulted in the beating was a joke.
Idioty called for respect, noting that it is a two-way traffic in which those who give it receive it.
He vowed to ensure that justice is served, asserting that he will not let the alleged assault slip by without action.
“Justice must be served. Respect me, I respect you @ogaobinna . Huwezi ambia msee wako anipige alafu iishe hivyo. Nkt!” Idioty said.
