Murugi Munyi: The world is cruel to women who don’t have money
Content creator Murugi Munyi has highlighted the challenges women face without financial independence, saying the world can be particularly cruel to women who do not have money.
The media personality encouraged people to support women-owned businesses as a way of empowering women and helping them gain financial freedom. Munyi said money provides women with the ability to protect themselves and improve their lives.
“Today I will try to tag as many women-owned businesses as I can or as I come into contact with,” Munyi said on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

She explained that supporting women financially is one of the most effective ways to help them succeed. Munyi also noted that the world is often unkind to women, and a lack of money makes it even harder to navigate life’s challenges.
According to her, financial independence gives women the freedom to leave situations that do not serve them.
“Having money is the best way for you as a woman to empower yourself, for you as a woman to free yourself from any situation that is not serving you,” she said.
Munyi stressed that without money, it is difficult for women to protect their interests and make independent choices.
The power of financial independence for women
Munyi encouraged people to actively support women, whether by buying their products, using their services, or simply sharing their work online. She said small actions can make a big difference in helping women gain control over their lives. Munyi also said supporting women financially is not just about generosity but about empowerment and equality.

“Without money, it is difficult for you to do that, and that is something… it is a fact,” she said.
She added that financial support enables women to grow their businesses, pursue their goals, and live independently. Munyi said people should recognise the importance of money in giving women choices and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
She concluded by urging everyone to consider the practical ways they can uplift women in their communities.
“Actually, arguably, the best way you can support a woman today is to send her money,” Munyi said.
