Mugithi icon Sarafina Salim claps back after Siaya father of two asks to marry her

Mugithi songstress Sarafina Salim has clapped back after a Siaya-based father of two publicly expressed interest in marrying her.
The musician’s reaction came after a man identified as Jackson, who described himself as a father of two grown daughters and currently based in Kiserian, Kajiado County, reached out to her seeking a serious relationship.
In his message, Jackson introduced himself and expressed his desire to settle down with the Mugithi star.
“Hello, Sarafina, my name is Jackson. I am a father of two grown daughters. I come from Siaya County, but I live in Kiserian, Kajiado County. I would like to have a serious relationship with you if you do not mind,” Jackson wrote.

However, Sarafina did not hold back in her response, dismissing the proposal and making it clear that she does not date men with children.
In a message shared on Facebook on Friday, May 22, 2026, she also stated that she considers herself a virgin waiting for a clean church wedding, emphasising that she prefers formal and official marital arrangements conducted in a church setting.
“You should just tell Jackson that I don’t date men with children. I am a virgin waiting for a clean church wedding, not those marriages that are not officially recognised,” Sarafina wrote.
In her message, Sarafina further highlighted her identity as a musician who performs secular music, noting that her work is often misunderstood by some people.
She explained that her songs are meant to entertain and bring happiness to audiences, even if they are not always considered holy by certain sections of society.
She went on to describe herself as dangerous, a remark that appeared to be a warning to the man and others attempting to approach her without understanding her personality, lifestyle, and boundaries.
“Also, he should know that I am a musician who sings secular songs that many people may not consider holy. My songs are meant to bring happiness to people here on earth. Because of that, I think he should know that I am very dangerous,” Sarafina added.
