‘Mtoto akililia wembe’ – Majembe shrugs off Mbavu Destroyer’s referee concerns

Boxer Protifas Odipo, widely known as Majembe, has broken his silence following Mbavu Destroyer’s confusion over the presence of a referee in their upcoming boxing clash, making it clear he is unfazed by his opponent’s concerns.
Reacting to Mbavu Destroyer’s shock upon learning about the professional structure to be applied in their bout, Majembe issued a warning wrapped in a Swahili proverb, suggesting that if someone insists on danger, they should be allowed to face the consequences.
Majembe, who seems confident about winning the clash, added that only a few hours remain between him and his victory.
“Aya, mtoto akililia wembe, unafanya nini, mpe kenye inamtenganisha na kichapo ni masaa,” Majembe said.

Ahead of their bout, Majembe seems to be taking a completely different approach. Calm, composed, and clearly focused, he signalled that he was ready for a structured fight and prepared to capitalise on any gaps in his opponent’s understanding of the sport.
Mbavu Destroyer’s concerns
This comes after Mbavu Destroyer expressed disbelief upon learning that their bout would include a referee and formal rules, questioning why a third party would be involved in what he assumed would be a straightforward fight between two men, remarks that painted him as more accustomed to informal brawls than regulated competition.
Speaking during a casual interview on the Mic Cheque podcast, Mbavu said he believed it would be just him and his opponent.
“Boxing kunakuwanga na ref? Huyo referee si basi ako kwa noma, ring ni ya watu wawili yeye anaingia kufanya nini?” Mbavu questioned.
