‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’ trailer: Inside the story, new characters and major surprises
The official trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3 has finally landed, giving fans their first look at the next chapter in the animated franchise ahead of its theatrical release on Wednesday, December 23, 2026.
Released by Paramount Pictures on Monday, June 29, 2026, the nearly two-minute trailer introduces a fresh direction for the series.
While the previous films focused on the rivalry between the birds and pigs, the third instalment shifts attention to family, responsibility and a new generation of feathered heroes.
Red’s biggest challenge
The trailer opens with Red, voiced once again by Jason Sudeikis, facing a challenge unlike any he has encountered before: fatherhood.
Instead of launching himself through giant slingshots or leading battles against the pigs, Red is shown juggling the demands of raising energetic young birds while trying to keep Bird Island safe.

Several scenes highlight sleepless nights, parenting mishaps and humorous family moments, suggesting the film takes place years after the events of the previous movies.
The emotional focus marks a significant departure from the action-heavy formula that made the franchise popular.
New characters arrive
The trailer also introduces several new characters, adding fresh energy to the long-running series.
One of the biggest surprises is the addition of Ryan Gosling to the voice cast. Although the trailer offers only brief glimpses of his character, his inclusion has already generated excitement among fans eager to learn more about his role.
Returning favourites, including Chuck, Bomb and other familiar residents of Bird Island, also make appearances, ensuring the film retains much of its original charm.

The animation remains vibrant throughout, featuring colourful landscapes, expressive character designs and fluid action sequences that build on the visual style established in the first two films.
Major surprises
Beyond the comedy and colourful visuals, the trailer hints at a more emotional story centred on family, growth and responsibility.
However, some longtime fans have expressed disappointment that the movie does not appear to explore the popular Angry Birds Space storyline, a direction many had hoped the franchise would eventually take.
Instead, the trailer leans into heartfelt family moments, broad humour and a lighter holiday adventure.
