Mosiria speaks out after 2 men trade blows in his presence
By David Nthua, March 2, 2026Geoffrey Mosiria did not believe what his eyes witnessed when two young men almost injured each other during a fight in Nairobi CBD.
In a post on his Facebook account on Monday, March 2, 2026, Mosiria termed the behavior as uncouth and backward.
He said the confrontation happened while he was going about his duties in the city centre when the two men, said to be intoxicated, began fighting after a small disagreement.

Nairobi CBD fight incident
According to Mosiria, the situation quickly escalated, drawing attention from members of the public who watched as the two exchanged blows in broad daylight.
“Today while in the Nairobi CBD, I encountered two men who were intoxicated and fighting following a small disagreement. I stepped in to help them reconcile, but due to their level of intoxication, they were uncontrollable,” he wrote.
Mosiria explained that attempts to calm the two down proved difficult because of their condition. To prevent the situation from getting worse, he authorised his team to intervene and separate them.
“I authorised my team to separate them to prevent harm and restore order,” he stated, adding that the men were later advised to seek medical attention after the incident.
He further reminded them that such behaviour is illegal and can attract serious legal consequences.

Mosiria urges peaceful dialogue
The incident, which briefly disrupted normal activities in the busy Nairobi CBD, left many onlookers surprised, with some urging young people to avoid alcohol fueled confrontations that often end badly.
Mosiria used the moment to send a message to the public, especially young people, urging them to embrace peaceful ways of handling disagreements.

“I also want to appeal to young people and the public at large: fighting is never a solution. Disagreements can always be resolved through dialogue and understanding.
“Let us choose peace, respect, and responsible conduct over violence,” he said.
The encounter has since sparked conversation online, with many agreeing that minor disagreements should not escalate into physical fights, especially in public spaces where safety and order are a shared responsibility.
