Mosiria sends appeal after rescuing a totally drunk man and rushing him to hospital
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has offered candid advice after intervening to help a man whom he came across in a state of drunkenness.
Mosiria, who was executing his duties in Muthurwa market, found the man lying on a pile of cabbage and stepped in to assist, fearing for the worst.
Despite those around insisting that the man was okay, Mosiria opted to call an ambulance to take him to the hospital upon assessing the situation and determining that the man needed urgent help.
Mosiria to the rescue
With the help of others, he moved the man from a pile of cabbage where he was lying onto the ground.
“Leo nikiwa kazi usiku pale Mudhurwa, kuna jamaa amelewa ameanguka anatapika karibu akufe. Kama hatungemsaidia, na watu wanamwangalia tu. Tukamsaidia tukatisha ambulance tukampeleka hospitalini. (While working at Muthurwa, I came across this man in a state of drunkenness and assisted him before calling an ambulance to take him to hospital.” Mosiria stated on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Upon assessing the situation and determining that the man needed urgent help, Mosiria requested an ambulance take him to a city hospital for medical attention.
Mosiria documented his experience in a video which he shared on his Facebook account making his tstand on alcohol consumption known.
“Let’s go slow on alcohol if you can’t control it leave it !.” Mosiria stated.

He left the scene after providing the contacts of a good Samaritan who agreed to be listed as the contact person and accompany the man to the hospital.
Mosiria’s advice on alcohol consumption
Mosiria offered to call the man’s wife and organised for a bodaboda rider to transport him home.
The man who could barely express himself provided crucial details, including the contacts of his relatives and his place of work.
He arranged for the man to have some water, keeping him hydrated and also provided money for a soft drink.

The Nairobi County Chief Officer briefly engaged those at the scene, questioning the benefits of alcohol before giving his take.
“Don’t take alcohol, there is no nutritional value in alcohol. You are better off being sobber like me than take alcohol and becoming a nuisance like this,” he added.
