Mbavu Destroyer breaks silence after viral video of women twerking for him in Nakuru

By , April 12, 2026

Amateur boxer Ferdinand Omondi, popularly known as Mbavu Destroyer, has finally addressed a viral video showing women twerking around him in Nakuru, clarifying the circumstances behind the widely circulated clip.

The video, which has been trending across social media platforms, sparked mixed reactions among fans, with some questioning the boxer’s conduct following his recent high-profile bout at the Vurugu Fight Night.

However, speaking on the matter in a video shared by Vickie Vickinah on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Mbavu dismissed claims that the moment was for entertainment or leisure, insisting that it was part of a medical recovery process following the injury he sustained during his match against Protifas Odipo, alias Majembe.

According to the boxer, he was acting under strict medical advice aimed at helping him regain full function after the blow he suffered during the fight.

“So it’s doctors who advised me to keep my genitals fit. I was not dancing with women for fun. You have never seen me with women like that. The doctor told me I have to do that, so I have to follow his instructions to the letter,” he explained.

Mbavu further revealed that despite following the recommended routine, he is yet to fully recover, noting that his condition has not returned to normal.

He added that he has since sought further medical consultation, where he was reassured that the healing process may take time but will eventually be successful.

“But even after doing that, my genitals are not back to normal. I have sought further consultation, and I have been told not to worry because they will return to normal with time,” he added.

The clarification comes in the wake of ongoing public interest surrounding the boxer, who has remained in the spotlight since his controversial loss at the Kasarani Indoor Arena earlier this month.

Mbavu’s obsessor

In a related development, Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari opened up about his admiration for Mbavu Destroyer, following his recent bout at the Vurugu Fight Night.

Speaking on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Kanyari explained that his interest in the young fighter stems from both concern and admiration, particularly after learning about the injuries Mbavu sustained during the fight.

According to the pastor, he recently noticed that Mbavu was walking in discomfort and appeared to be slightly bent, prompting him to enquire about his condition. It was then that the boxer revealed he had been hit in the genitals during the match, an incident that ultimately contributed to his defeat.

“So now I have seen Mbavu walking while slightly bent, and when I asked him, he told me, ‘Pastor, during the boxing match I was hit in my genitals,” he said.

Kanyari further disclosed that he later came across a video showing Mbavu engaging in an unusual training method—placing weight on his genitals while exercising.

Curious about the practice, he said he reached out again, only to learn that the boxer was attempting to strengthen himself and avoid similar injuries in future fights.

The pastor expressed both shock and admiration at the same time, describing Mbavu as a highly creative and resilient individual.

“I also saw a video of him placing a weight on his genitals while exercising, and when I asked him about it, he said he was doing that so he wouldn’t suffer the same injury again in future fights,” he said.
