Mama Gift confirms she is returning to Kenya after weeks in India for son’s treatment

TikToker Mama Gift Gathoge has confirmed that she will soon be travelling back to Kenya after successfully seeking specialised treatment for her child in India during a stay that spanned several weeks.

In an update shared on her TikTok page on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Mama Gift asked her fans to start sending her travel mercies as her trip back to Kenya is expected to commence very soon.

“Coming back soon. Safe flights wishes in advance,” she wrote.

The update comes just days after Mama Gift confirmed that her child, Baby Gift, had received treatment and was now able to breathe on his own without the need for an air pipe.

In an earlier update shared on TikTok on January 22, 2026, Mama Gift expressed immense gratitude to God for answering her desperate prayers, insisting that Baby Gift’s recovery was nothing short of a miracle.

“From oxygen dependent to breathing on his own, God has given another chance, truly,” she wrote.

Further, in a separate post shared on Friday, January 30, 2026, Mama Gift reflected on the immense suffering she endured while her child battled illness and extended heartfelt thanks to all who supported her in seeking treatment for him.

She revealed that no words could fully express what she felt in her heart and insisted that it was God who made everything possible.

“No words can express my gratitude towards this doing. Lord, I am always grateful,” she shared.

At the same time, Mama Gift encouraged her fans to make prayer a habit and to maintain faith when praying, emphasising that faith is how prayers are answered.

“Pray and have faith that one day things will work out,” she wrote.

Beggar backlash

The development comes just weeks after she turned to God after a netizen berated her for frequently asking people to donate to support her son’s treatment.

In a TikTok post on Friday, December 5, 2025, Mama Gift asked God to perform a healing miracle on her child, explaining that the criticism she was receiving for trying to help him had become too much to bear.

“God, I ask for just one miracle: heal my son for the glory of Your name. Let those who mock me face the consequences, as in the stories of Peninah and Hanna. We are in and out of hospitals almost every day. Please, God, help me. If you are healthy and have healthy children, always thank God and never mock anyone who is struggling,” Mama Gift wrote.

The criticism came from a TikToker who accused her of repeatedly disturbing people online by requesting donations.

The critic, @lucykirika, questioned why she continued to appeal for help, suggesting that her repeated posts were burdensome to users.

“How many millions do you want before you stop disturbing people? Why do you keep asking for donations all the time?”
