“Now you see this is where we lose trust in humanity because imagine mtu anajua ame ku mess halafu anakuambia ukue patient, anakuambia anachukua a break from talking to people.”

She added that the pause in communication affects her work and her peace of mind.

“Like hautampata kwa simu. So mimi niendelee kufanya kazi as mwenye ako na pesa yangu anachukua break. This is where we are forced to be unkind people,” Lydia said.

Learning to focus on her own path

This comes after Lydia opened up about why she stopped comparing herself with others. She shared advice on how people can focus on their own journeys and find happiness in their lives.

She reflected on her past struggles, including growing up without parents and living in a one-bedroom house.

“If I started comparing myself with others, I wouldn’t even notice the small joys in life like the happiness I felt after getting married,” she said.

She explained that everyone has a different journey.

“Everyone lives their own race, and your life experiences, challenges, and the opportunities you’ve had are different from mine. Comparing yourself to others will only take away your peace and your focus. It won’t help you grow,” she says.

Lydia said focusing on personal growth and understanding your own path helps build resilience. She noted that heartbreaks, including those in friendships, are part of life’s lessons. Learning to navigate these experiences allows one to stay kind and maintain perspective despite challenges.

She added that stepping back from comparisons and expectations gives clarity and emotional stability. Lydia encouraged people to celebrate their progress, no matter how small, and to value the relationships that bring honesty and positivity into their lives.
