Look at positives! Oga Obinna responds to claims he looked down on Goliath wa Bungoma

Media personality and content creator Oga Obinna has responded to claims that he looked down on Goliath wa Bungoma following an interview where he advised the young influencer to return to Bungoma.

The clarification comes after social media narratives suggested Obinna had rejected Goliath and was unhappy about his recent success, including the construction of a new house.

In a long video shared via his Instagram on Thursday, February 5, 2026, Obinna said he has no hard feelings and is genuinely happy for Goliath’s progress.

“Why would I feel bad that he is building a house? We don’t do the same business; there is nothing that he has that I want. I feel good when people are winning,” Oga Obinna said.

He explained that his advice during the interview was meant to help Goliath reassess his options and strategy, though some have called Obinna’s approach petty.

“We tried to reason… what can you really do, what do you have to offer, mkono mtupu haulambwi. You have to have something. The juice was not worth the squeeze,” Obinna said, noting that Goliath was not yet established in any creative field like acting, music, or dancing.

After the interview, Goliath wa Bungoma, whose real name is Isaac Otesa, struggled in Nairobi. He was reportedly stranded with no place to stay and limited resources. It was at this point that Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement, Geoffrey Mosiria, intervened.

Mosiria noticed Goliath’s situation and helped him find temporary accommodation. He later assisted Goliath in securing work as a bouncer, giving him stability and an opportunity to rebuild his confidence and presence in Nairobi. Mosiria’s support eventually allowed Goliath to secure promotional work with a car company, leading to his current recognition as a brand ambassador and influencer.

Obinna also implied that his interview played a key role in Goliath’s later success.

“Some people did not see the logic in my advice. When he left, another employer saw him in the streets, and things spiralled, but think back, was it from the employer? No, it was from our conversation. God was there. I was just a vessel,” Obinna stated.

Goliath wa Bungoma has risen to prominence partly because of his extraordinary height and distinctive personality. Before moving to Nairobi, he worked as a boda boda rider in Bungoma County. Life in the capital was challenging, and at times, he struggled to meet basic needs.

Oga Obinna urged Kenyans to focus on the positive aspects of people’s growth rather than assuming negativity.

“Most people look at the negative side of things. Try and see the positives in everything,” he said, highlighting the importance of celebrating the success of others.
