Lenny Kivuti emotional after nanny who worked in his home for 30 years dies
Former Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti is in mourning following the death of his long-serving household assistant, Ferdinada Jane Nguga Njue, who passed away after dedicating three decades of service to his family.
In a deeply emotional tribute shared on Facebook on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Kivuti described Jane as more than just an employee, saying she had become an inseparable part of the family over the 30 years she worked in their household between 1996 and 2026.
“My family is mourning the sudden passing of our beloved household assistant, Ferdinada Jane Nguga Njue, who has been an integral part of our family for the past thirty (30) years {1996 – 2026},” Lenny wrote.
He noted that throughout the decades, Jane played a central role in shaping their home environment, transforming it into a space filled with warmth, care, and stability.
According to the family, her presence went far beyond daily duties, as she consistently offered love, support, and kindness that left a lasting impact on everyone in the household.
“Jane was not just an employee; she was a cherished member of our household, a source of love, warmth, and unwavering support,” he added.

Kivuti said Jane’s dedication and commitment never went unnoticed, adding that she was deeply respected not only within the family but also by visitors who often experienced her hospitality and welcoming nature whenever they came to their home.
He further reflected on the memories they shared over the years, describing her as a constant source of comfort whose influence extended across generations within the household.
The family expressed gratitude for the long relationship, saying her contribution helped build strong emotional bonds and lasting memories.
“Over the decades, Jane transformed our house into a home, filling it with laughter, kindness, and an abundance of care. Her dedication and hard work never went unnoticed, and her presence brought comfort and stability to our lives,” he wrote.
The former senator added that Jane’s passing has left a deep void in their lives, noting that the grief is heavy as they come to terms with losing someone who had been part of their daily lives for such a long period.
At the same time, Kivuti honoured Jane’s legacy, saying she will be remembered not just for her work, but for the love, warmth, and humanity she brought into their home for 30 years.
“Everyone who visited our home felt her warmth and hospitality. We will forever be grateful for the countless memories shared, the lessons learned, and the love exchanged. Our hearts are heavy with grief, and we will miss Jane dearly. Rest in peace, Jane. You will always be remembered and cherished,” he added.
