Ladies First is a Netflix comedy that places viewers in a world where women hold most of the power in offices, social life and everyday systems. Gender roles are reversed, and the usual way things work is completely flipped.

Sacha Baron Cohen plays Damien Sachs, an arrogant advertising executive who is used to being in control. Rosamund Pike plays Alex Fox, a confident and powerful rival who now sits at the top of the system. Their clash drives the story.

The official trailer was released on Thursday, April 16, 2026, giving audiences a first look at the gender-reversed world, the workplace tension and the clash between Damien and Alex.

Power switched

Damien suddenly finds himself at the bottom of the same structures he once controlled. He now faces dismissal, awkward dating rules and constant pressure in the workplace.

The film follows how he reacts when the same behaviour he once showed others is now directed at him. It becomes a test of character and adjustment.

Alex Fox moves with authority and ease. Pike delivers a strong performance, calm but firm, showing full control in every scene. Her presence shapes the tone of the film.

Comedy with message

The film uses humour to show how power affects behaviour. Office politics, dating rules and daily interactions are used to reflect how people act when roles are reversed.

Many scenes are funny but also uncomfortable, especially when Damien struggles to adjust. The story keeps things simple and easy to follow.

The idea is strong, but some parts of the story feel predictable. The relationship between the main characters follows a familiar path.

At times, the film plays it safe instead of pushing its ideas further. This makes it entertaining but not very bold.

Even so, the performances carry the film. Cohen brings energy and frustration to his role, while Pike stays in control throughout.

Ladies First is a light comedy that uses role reversal to look at power and privilege. It mixes humour with social ideas simply and clearly.

The film is set for release on Netflix worldwide on Friday, May 22, 2026
