Koku Lwanga warns fans not to DM her after sharing personal SHA experience

Content creator Koku Lwanga has shared her personal experience with the Social Health Authority (SHA) and warned people not to message her over it.
She says that the service worked for her and helped reduce her medical bill significantly in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
“By the way, SHA is working. I paid 1000 bob for consultation, tests, IV fluids of hydration, antibiotics, flagyl and paracetamol. Na kwanza, probably if I’d gone to a public hospital, I would have paid much less. I was very shocked. SHA paid for everything else,” she explains.

She clarifies that her story is personal and not meant to campaign for the government.
“I’m not sure what you’re pointing at, but this was from a personal perspective and was intended to disseminate information for those like me who would like to try it,” Koku says.
She explained that her experience may not reflect how SHA works for everyone.
Koku Lwanga explains how SHA helped reduce her bill
Koku shares that many people have mixed experiences with SHA. Some have benefited greatly, even covering surgeries, accidents, and recoveries. Others, including some civil servants, have not been able to use it.
“My point is not to campaign for the government, it’s to highlight my personal experience. I asked the hospital to use SHA, and my bill was reduced significantly. That’s it, that’s all,” she says.

“If you don’t have a medical cover, SHA is working,” she adds.
Koku also asks people to respect her space and not come to her messages, arguing about SHA. She says her intent was only to share information that might help others in similar situations. She notes that semantics about whether SHA works or not for everyone should not be debated with her personally.
“I am not the government. Now, if we talk semantics: since it’s not working for everyone, then it’s not working,” she explains.
Koku concludes by explaining that her story is simply a personal account. She wants people to understand the benefits of SHA from her perspective.
