Popular Kikuyu businessman Kiomboyo wa Nyee, who has gained widespread attention for turning animal testicles into a sought-after delicacy, has revealed that most of his products are sourced from Tanzania due to limited local supply in Kenya.

Speaking in an interview shared by MC Machaini on TikTok on Saturday January, 31, 2026, Kiomboyo explained that Kenya alone cannot meet the growing demand for the delicacy he prepares and sells at major events. He noted that a significant number of the animal testicles he uses are imported from Tanzania, where supply is more reliable.

“For me, all my testicles come from Tanzania, not just Kenya, because in Kenya there aren’t enough. For example, at the last event I hosted, I noticed that the majority of the testicles I used were from Tanzania,” he said.

According to the businessman, during his most recent event, the majority of the products used were sourced across the border.

He revealed that out of more than 23,500 animal testicles prepared for the occasion, only about 8,500 were obtained locally, while the rest came from Tanzania.

“At my last event, I had prepared over 23,500 testicles. Of these, only 8,500 were sourced locally here in Kenya. It was someone who connected me to how I could get the product from Tanzania, and I was later given access,” Kiomboyo revealed.

Kiomboyo credited Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu for allowing the products to cross the border, saying the consignment, which exceeded 15,000 pieces, was permitted to enter Kenya without being subjected to taxes.

He expressed gratitude for the approval, noting that it had made his business operations smoother.

“That’s why I always say thank you so much to President Samia Suluhu. She gave permission for over 15,000 testicles to be transported from Tanzania to Kenya for me. She allowed them to cross the border, and I did not pay any tax, for which I am truly grateful,” he said.

He further explained that accessing the products is a demanding and exhausting process that requires personal sacrifice and commitment.

Kiomboyo said he often denies himself sleep and travels extensively across different parts of the country in search of quality supply.

“The process of getting these testicles is not easy, so when people see someone seated enjoying the meal, they shouldn’t think it’s simple. It is a job that demands your very best,” he shared.

The businessman revealed that his work takes him from his base in Mwea to areas such as Isiolo, Lucky Summer, Dagoretti, and several other regions.

He added that he prefers to be directly involved in the preparation process to ensure the quality of the final product meets his standards.

“The first step I usually take is to deny myself sleep and make many sacrifices. I travel from Mwea, where I run my business, all the way to Isiolo, Lucky Summer, Dagoretti, and many other places,” he said.

Kiomboyo also emphasised that the process of sourcing and preparing the delicacy is not as simple as many people assume.

He explained that those who enjoy the meals at events may not fully appreciate the effort, labour, and dedication that go into making them available.

“When I get to these locations, I am usually the one who cuts the testicles myself. For animals like goats, I cut the testicles first, and then the butcher cuts the neck at the same time. I don’t cut testicles on already killed animals. The reason we cut them first is so the animal doesn’t drain its energy by struggling after its neck is cut,” he shared.
