Kinoti reveals reason for 2-year break from music

Musician Kinoti has finally opened up about his nearly two-year break from the spotlight, explaining that the pause was not about quitting but recalibrating.

Speaking in an interview on Friday night, February 13, 2026, the singer dismissed speculation that he had stepped away from music entirely. Instead, he described the period as a time of quiet growth, reflection and behind-the-scenes work.

“I was working the whole time,” Kinoti shared, noting that while fans may not have seen frequent releases, he remained active in the studio, collaborating and refining his sound.

For many artists, time away can signal uncertainty. But for Kinoti, it was intentional. He explained that he needed space to realign creatively and personally.

Raised in a Christian home, Kinoti credits his upbringing and faith for keeping him grounded throughout his journey. That foundation, he says, helped shape both his discipline and his long-term vision.

“It’s the spaces I grew up in,” he reflected, pointing to family values and church as influences that continue to inform his work ethic.

Musical roots

The Nitangoja hit maker shared that his musical journey began in primary school and later continued through church praise and worship. He said those early experiences helped him build stage confidence and laid a strong foundation for his artistry.

He noted that over time, he transitioned from performing in schools and church events to larger venues, eventually headlining shows and cultivating a loyal fanbase. “Consistency and dedication have always been key,” he said, “and connecting with fans who have grown with us has been incredibly motivating.”

Reflecting on his career milestones, Kinoti revealed the excitement of performing sold-out shows.

He shared that the support from fans who have followed him from the early days has been a major source of inspiration. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who buys tickets and comes to the shows,” he said, highlighting the role of his audience in his success.

Kinoti revealed that new music is on the way. He shared that the break allowed him to explore fresh collaborations, refine his sound, and prepare for a strong comeback. “There’s so much amazing stuff coming,” he said, expressing excitement for the next chapter in his career.
