Kigooco singer Pastor Chege Wa Willy’s father dies

Revered Kigooco singer and minister of the gospel, Pastor Chege Wa Willy, has been plunged into mourning following the passing of his beloved father.
Chege announced the devastating news in a post shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
In the post, he expressed hope that his family and loved ones would be able to navigate this period of mourning, and prayed that God would grant his father eternal peace and rest.
He also confirmed that his father’s body will be received at the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, as the family proceeds to make arrangements for his burial.
“I’m well, RIP Dad. We will receive the body tomorrow at KU Referral at 10 am,” he wrote.

Further reflecting on the remarkable life his father, who was also a reverend, had led, Chege described him as having been like a general in his community, a figure of guidance, leadership, and respect.
“SURELY A GENERAL HAS RESTED,” he shared.
Kiengei’s church members’ demise
In a similar development, Jesus Compassion Ministries [JCM] founder Bishop Benson Kiengei was similarly thrown into mourning following the death of a long-serving church member shortly after the congregation helped build him a home.
In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on Friday, January 9, 2026, Bishop Kiengei announced the passing of Mr Njoroge, who died while receiving treatment at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved brother in Christ, Mr Njoroge, was called home to be with the Lord on the 9th January 2026,” Kiengei wrote on Facebook.
The preacher revealed that Njoroge, fondly referred to as “Mzee Wetu” within the church, had been part of the JCM congregation for three years and was deeply loved by fellow worshippers and various church departments.
He noted that the late congregant was closely supported by the JCM Church Men Council, the welfare team, the Lord’s Store team, the medical department, and online members who stood with him throughout his illness.
“Mr Njoroge, as we referred to him at JCM CHURCH, was a cherished member of our congregation for three years and will be deeply missed by all who worshipped God together with him, the JCM Church Men Council, Welfare, the Lord Store team and the medical department who took care of him,” the bishop added.
Bishop Kiengei further shared that Mr Njoroge had been battling blood cancer for more than a decade, describing him as a fighter who refused to give up despite the long and painful journey.
“Mr Njoroge has battled blood cancer for more than 10 years. He has finished the race as a fighter who refused to give up,” Kiengei wrote.
