Kathy Kiuna pens emotional message marking her late husband’s posthumous 59th birthday

Reverend Kathy Kiuna has marked what would have been her late husband Allan Kiuna’s 59th birthday with a heartfelt message.

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, on Instagram, she shared that the day would also have been their 31st wedding anniversary, adding that she continues to hold on to her faith and memories.

Kathy wrote, “Today would have been his 59th birthday and my 31st wedding anniversary. God has been good, and He does all things well.”

She remembered Allan with deep emotion, saying, “Even when it hurts so bad, my answer to God is Yes.”

She went on to honour his character and the impact he left behind.

“His mercy prevails over everything. Always in my heart, my love. You did well. You loved deeply and you showed us God,” she said as she marked the day.

Kathy shared the message as she reflected on Allan’s life, his leadership and the journey they walked together. The day brought back memories of their marriage and the many years they spent serving together as he led their ministry.

Allan Kiuna’s long health battle

Allan Kiuna died on 9 July 2024 at the age of 57 while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital. He had been battling myeloma cancer, a type of blood cancer that doctors describe as treatable but still incurable.

His journey with the illness began in 2018 when he was first diagnosed, leading him to seek treatment both in Kenya and abroad, including in the United States.
Kathy had previously shared details of his struggle.

In a long Instagram post in 2019, she revealed that Allan had been diagnosed with cancer the year before. She explained how the chemotherapy affected him, saying it caused him to lose hair and gain weight.

In the same message, she noted how much pain he went through during treatment. She said he could not stand or walk for long and sometimes had to tiptoe because of the pain in his legs. As she marked his 59th birthday, Kathy honoured not only the years he lived but also the courage he showed during his illness.
