Karangu Muraya reveals emotional message ailing Njeru Thiga once shared

It is said a friend in need is a friend indeed, and Kikuyu gospel singer Karangu Muraya has once again proven the wise men were right.

This is after he shared an emotional video clip of the ailing gospel musician Njeru Thiga lying on a hospital bed, moments before being wheeled into the operating theatre.

In the touching clip shared on Facebook Friday, January 2, 2026, Karangu is seen leaning close to his longtime friend, whispering words of encouragement that once helped him through a dark season of his own life.

Wee, wi wa Ngai. Gaka no kaundu kanini tu uragerera,” Karangu told Njeru, loosely translated to mean that he belongs to God and that the challenge he is facing is only temporary.

The moment struck a deep chord with fans, many of whom praised the bond between the two musicians, describing it as raw, genuine, and anchored in faith.

Words that returned

In an accompanying message, Karangu revealed that the same words were once spoken to him by Njeru Thiga during a period he described as a personal wilderness.

At the time, he said, Njeru reminded him of his identity and strength when hope seemed distant.

“Yesterday, I repeated the same words to him as he was being taken to the operating theatre,” Karangu shared on Facebook.

The phrase Wee wi wa Ngai is more than encouragement, but a reminder of divine ownership and victory.

He extended the message beyond his friend, telling anyone reading his post that they, too, belong to God and will emerge victorious no matter what the year brings.

As Njeru was wheeled into surgery, Karangu noted that the hospital room fell quiet, heavy with faith, prayer, and expectation from loved ones who had gathered to support the gospel singer.

Surgery update relief

Hours later, Karangu returned with an update that brought relief to thousands following the story.

He shared photos taken late at night, moments before Njeru was taken to the theatre, and confirmed that the surgery had been successful.

“After waiting for more than 15 hours, our brother Pastor Njeru Thiga’s surgery was successful, and he is doing very well,” Karangu wrote, attributing the outcome to God’s grace.

He urged supporters to join him in thanking God, describing the successful operation as “a miracle of the new year 2026.”

As messages of goodwill continue to pour in, the story has become a powerful reminder of friendship, faith, and the quiet strength found in standing with one another during life’s most fragile moments.
