Kanyari takes ‘weka mawe’ challenge to church, tips Majembe to beat Mbavu Destroyer

Self-styled prophet Victor Kanyari and Marion Naipei have joined the viral ‘weka mawe‘ challenge, taking it to the pulpit.

While delivering a sermon at his church, the Salvation Healing Ministries founder paused and invited Marion Naipei to the pulpit with the duo treating the congregation to the viral trend as shown in a video shared across his social media platforms on Friday, March 6, 2026.

The popular preacher delved into trending topics while emphasising the need to work hard to his congregants, referencing several viral phrases before inviting Naipei to join him in the challenge.

“Wewe uliskia Oburu Odinga akisema tunataka power’. Hata Oburu ukamsikia akisema “, weka mawe!” Kanyari stated during the sermon.

This loosely translates to: “You all heard Oburu declare that they want power, and also heard him saying weka mawe”.

“Kuja Naipea, na mimi nakuambia weka mawe,” Kanyari said while leaning to provide his back to Naipei as they executed the challenge in church.

Inviting Mbavu to his church

The preacher also hinted at inviting Mbavu Destroyer to the church, revealing that he is supporting him in the upcoming boxing match against Majembe.

He explained that he supports Mbavu as he supports the downtrodden in society, and, going by his assessment, Majembe will defeat Mbavu.

Na tungeita Mbavu the Destroyer kwa hii Kanisa. Niko kwa mbavu maana naona yeye ndio atapigwa na mimi huwa natetea wanyonge,” he said.

Kanyari’s ministry has attracted both praise and controversy in equal measure, with the preacher having a strong presence across social media platforms.

Kanyari’s past and bouncing back

The Ksh310 saga was perhaps a defining moment of his past.

He has since risen above the scandal in a transformation that has convinced Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, that he is genuine.

Known to jump onto trending issues, Kanyari did not disappoint as he left no doubt that he is up to date with the trending phrases and those behind them.

“Zakayo (pastor Kanyari) has decided to return what he obtained unlawfully (panda mbegu ya 310) and is now using it to help the less fortunate in society. In his church, nobody gives offerings; instead, they receive support from him (310),” Mosiria stated.
