Kanyari pledges free education if elected in 2027 general elections

Renowned preacher Victor Kanyari has pledged to provide free education for children in the Njiru ward if elected in the 2027 General Elections, as he intensifies his political campaigns on the ground.

Kanyari made the remarks on Friday, April 3, 2026, while touring Njiru Ward, Kasarani Constituency, Nairobi County, where he engaged residents and outlined parts of his manifesto.

Addressing locals, Kanyari promised that parents would no longer have to worry about education costs under his leadership.

During the visit, he also donated school uniforms to primary school children, a move he said reflects his commitment to easing the burden on struggling families.

Nikichaguliwa kuwa mweshimiwa, hutawai lipia mtoto wako school fees nitakuwa ninalipa, na pia hakuna siku mtoto wako utamushonea uniform nitakuwa namununulia uniform,” Kanyari pledged.

In addition to giving out school uniforms, the vocal preacher disclosed that he made donations of unga to vulnerable families.

Reflecting on the day’s activities, Kanyari described the visit as impactful and community-driven.

Ilikuwa siku njema na yenye matunda—tulifika kwa watu, tukatoa msaada wa unga na kujifunza matatizo yao, ili pamoja tujenge jamii iliyojaa upendo na suluhisho,” he posted on his social media hours after the visit.

Kanyari, who is transitioning from religious leadership into politics as a Member of the County Assembly (MCA) of Njiru Ward, continues to position himself as a voice for ordinary wananchi as the 2027 elections draw closer.

Kanyari’s political ambitions

This comes days after he disclosed his intentions to contest for a political seat in the next general elections.

Speaking during a church service at his Salvation Healing Ministry on Sunday, December 14, 2025, he reflected on his past political affiliations and expressed uncertainty about his future plans in politics.

Kanyari disclosed that he was the late Raila’s diehard supporter, noting that he voted for him in the past general elections.

Following Raila’s death, the pastor says he is not sure if he will ever vote again, stating that maybe he will only do so if he decides to vie for a political seat come 2027.

Mimi nilikuwa mtu wa Raila Odinga, wakati wa Uhuru nilimsupport tukaanguka, sasa amekufa sasa sitachagua mimi tena raisi labda sasa vile nataka kusimama ka kiti kengine hapo sijui ata kama nitasimama nitajaribu, na nitasimama hiyo wakati otherwise ssingechagua,” Kanyarirevealed.

The self-proclaimed prophet further explained that he no longer closely follows political news as he once did after the death of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader.

Mimi sionangi news, nilikuwa naona news kwa sababu ya Raila Odinga, sasa juu alikufa. I no longer watch news,” he added, highlighting a shift in his engagement with politics.
