Kanyari mourns Johana Ng’eno, urges Kenyans not to rejoice at others’ misfortune

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has expressed profound grief over the death of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) Johana Ng’eno.
In an emotional statement shared on his official Facebook account on Sunday, March 1, 2026, Kanyari urged Kenyans to show empathy and refrain from celebrating the misfortunes of others.
He further stated that death is painful and that anyone who has lost a loved one understands this pain, warning Kenyans never to rejoice at the misfortune or death of others, and bade farewell to Johana Ng’eno.
“Death is painful… nani hapa alikufiwa akafeel pain. Usiwahi furahia wengine wakikufiwa … bye bye ngeno,” Kanyari mourned.
Kanyari’s statement highlights the universal sorrow that comes with losing a loved one and serves as a reminder of the respect and compassion owed to the bereaved. By urging Kenyans not to rejoice at others’ deaths, he sought to promote dignity and humanity even in moments of political rivalry or disagreement.

Nge’no’s death
Kanyari’s message comes amid an outpouring of condolences from the public, colleagues, and political leaders mourning the sudden passing of the Emurua Dikir MP in the helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
The helicopter crashed near Chepkieb Primary School in a densely forested area amid heavy rainfall, which is believed to have contributed to the accident.
According to Philip Kirwa, the CEO of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), the bodies of Ng’eno and five others were burnt beyond recognition.
While addressing the press on Saturday, February 28, 2026, he said, “Leo tumepokea mili 6 ya ajali ya helicopter imetokezea huko Nandi,” as the hospital team handled the remains.
Kirwa explained that the damage to the bodies was severe and that there was nothing clear to see at the moment.

“So vile tumeangalia hizo mili, tungeomba mtuwie radhi kwa sababu hakuna kitu ya kuona, vile mwili imeharibika vibaya,” he said.
The hospital said the fire and the crash caused heavy damage to the bodies.
He added that the bodies were burnt in a way that made it hard to tell who was who.
“Mwili imechomeka, hata huwezi identify nani ni nani,” Kirwa said as he spoke about the state of the remains.
He asked people to understand that viewing the bodies now would not be possible. Kirwa said the bodies may only look like human bodies after proper work is done.
“Kuangalia labda baada ya kuundwa vizuri ionekane kama mwili ya binadamu,” he added.
“Saa hizi pamoja na moto na ajali yenyewe. But ni mwili 6, tumepata zimepangwa vizuri.”
