Kanyari buys daughter new gadget day after Ofweneke advised keeping her offline

Salvation Healing Ministries head preacher, Prophet Victor Kanyari, has surprised his daughter Sky with a new gadget just a day after media personality Dr Ofweneke appealed to him to keep her away from social media.

In a video shared on his TikTok page on Saturday, December 6, 2025, Kanyari is seen spending quality time with Sky alongside her brother Dany, taking them to several places for a fun-filled shopping outing.

They first visited a clothing store where Sky engaged in some window shopping before purchasing a few items of clothing. They then proceeded to an electronics shop, where Sky picked out a new pair of multi-bass headphones.

In the video, Sky is seen consulting her father on several matters alongside the shop owner before selecting a range of accessories, including a phone cover.

Towards the end, the shop owner presents a variety of headphones, from which Sky ultimately chooses a black pair that complements the colour of her phone.

Before Kanyari paid for the gadget, Sky is seen taking out her phone to test the headphones, smiling broadly after enjoying their bass.

She also let Kanyari and her brother Dany try out the headphones before rounding off their lovely family day out.

Ofweneke’s appeal

The development comes just hours after Dr Ofweneke called on Kanyari and Betty Bayo’s widower, Tash, to protect Sky by keeping her away from social media as she navigates the early stages of grief.

Speaking in an Instagram video on Friday, December 5, 2025, Ofweneke said his concerns came from a place of love, both for the family and for the young girl who has found herself in the public eye during an emotionally fragile moment.

“I stand to be corrected respectfully, but I am saying this with a lot of love, especially to the family of the late Betty Bayo, who are my friends as well. First of all, somebody needs to take the phone away from Sky. Sky Kanyari’s phone needs to be taken away,” he said.

He emphasised that Sky is still very young and should not be burdened with managing public perception or navigating online spaces at such a delicate time.

“Sky should be kept off social media for a while. We must remember this is still a very young child, and there are still a few things growing in terms of her maturity, posture, and how she handles things. She has just lost her mum, for heaven’s sake. We need to let the kid grieve like any other normal person,” he added.
