Kamene Goro shares story behind her latest tattoo

Radio host Michelle Kamene Goro has explained the meaning behind her latest tattoo, revealing that it carries dates connected to her serious health struggle earlier in 2026.

The radio host said the tattoo contains four important dates written in Roman numerals, each representing a major moment during her hospital journey.

“So about my most recent tattoo, it’s 4 dates in Roman numbers,” Kamene Goro said on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

She explained that the dates represent the day she was admitted to the hospital, the day she underwent surgery, the day she got pneumonia, and the day she was finally discharged. According to Kamene, each date reminds her of a difficult period that completely changed her life.

“The day I was admitted, the day I had surgery, the day I got pneumonia, the day I was discharged,” Kamene Goro explained.

Kamene Goro further noted that although those memories were painful, she never wants to forget them because of the lessons and changes they brought into her life. She also thanked tattoo artist Barry Tusker for helping her turn the emotional experience into something meaningful.

“They may not be the best memories, but I never want to forget them because of how they changed my life,” Kamene Goro said.

Health scare that changed her life

The media personality had earlier spoken about her frightening health condition, which nearly claimed her life. Kamene revealed that she had been unwell for months before realising how serious the situation had become.

“I’m so thankful that…could make this sentimental journey come true,” Kamene Goro added.

She explained that her health problems started around November 2025 but worsened in January 2026. According to Kamene, doctors informed her that she had a very short window between life and death during the medical emergency.

“I have been sick for a while and just did not know how sick I was,” Kamene Goro said.

Kamene also recalled how serious the condition became at the start of the year. She described the experience as terrifying and life-changing after learning how close she came to losing her life.

“In January 2026, I almost died. I was left with like 12 hours; the window between life and death for me was like 12 hours,” Kamene Goro explained.
