Kaluma Boy thrown into mourning after close family member dies
By Steve Ireri, January 24, 2026TikToker Kaluma Boy has been thrown into deep mourning following the death of his uncle, Paul, whose life was cut short under tragic circumstances.
Speaking in an emotional message shared on TikTok on Saturday, January 24, 2026, after returning home from school, the TikToker revealed that his uncle died after a suspected wild animal attack.
Kaluma Boy explained that his uncle was heading home from work when the incident occurred, adding that it is believed he may have been attacked by either a hyena or a leopard.
“Hello everyone, I hope you are well. I have sad news to share. My uncle passed away on Monday while he was coming home from work. It is believed that he was attacked by a wild animal, possibly a hyena or a leopard,” he stated.
Kaluma, who rose to fame after TikTokers travelled to their Othaya home to fundraise for his ailing father, stated that the family grew concerned after the deceased failed to return home that night, noting that his body was only discovered the following morning.
He disclosed that the discovery confirmed the family’s worst fears and plunged them into grief, as the uncle had been going about his normal routine before the tragic incident.
“He was only found the following morning, when he was already dead,” he shared.

The TikToker revealed that he immediately travelled back home from school upon receiving the heartbreaking news, saying the loss had deeply shaken him and other family members.
He added that the family is currently making burial arrangements, with the interment scheduled to take place on Saturday.
He described his uncle Paul as a key and cherished member of the family, stating that his sudden death had left a painful void.
“I have just returned home from school, and we are now waiting for his burial, which has been scheduled for Saturday. May he rest in peace. His name was Uncle Paul,” he shared.
Kiengei’s church members’ demise
In a similar development, Jesus Compassion Ministries [JCM] founder Bishop Benson Kiengei was similarly thrown into mourning following the death of a long-serving church member shortly after the congregation helped build him a home.
In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on Friday, January 9, 2026, Bishop Kiengei announced the passing of Mr Njoroge, who died while receiving treatment at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved brother in Christ, Mr Njoroge, was called home to be with the Lord on the 9th January 2026,” Kiengei wrote on Facebook.
The preacher revealed that Njoroge, fondly referred to as “Mzee Wetu” within the church, had been part of the JCM congregation for three years and was deeply loved by fellow worshippers and various church departments.
He noted that the late congregant was closely supported by the JCM Church Men Council, the welfare team, the Lord’s Store team, the medical department, and online members who stood with him throughout his illness.
“Mr Njoroge, as we referred to him at JCM CHURCH, was a cherished member of our congregation for three years and will be deeply missed by all who worshipped God together with him, the JCM Church Men Council, Welfare, the Lord Store team and the medical department who took care of him,” the bishop added.

Bishop Kiengei further shared that Mr Njoroge had been battling blood cancer for more than a decade, describing him as a fighter who refused to give up despite the long and painful journey.
“Mr Njoroge has battled blood cancer for more than 10 years. He has finished the race as a fighter who refused to give up,” Kiengei wrote.
