Kenyan musician Juliani has weighed in on the unfolding political events in the country, saying that many lives will be lost over the next two years.

According to the Utawala hitmaker, most of those who will lose their lives are young people who are frequently taken advantage of by the political elite as campaigns heat up.

In a brief but loaded statement on his social media accounts on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the rapper delved into Kenyan politics and what it brings for the youth, noting that it is yet another time of challenges

He stated that the same period will see friction within the wider community,y with differences in political opinion taking its toll on communities.

Juliani fingers politicians for dumping the youth

According to Juliani, the political elite will dispose of young people as soon as they attain their political goals until the next cycle begins, when they will once again be needed.

“In the next 2 years, lives are going to be lost, mostly young people, and friction with the wider community. -Disposed after being used for political gains,” he stated.

With political temperatures rising, a number of notable personalities and politicians have urged the youth not to be misused during the period.

Celebrities and activists urge you to reject handouts and violence

Rapper Octopizzo and activist Boniface Mwangi are among those who have been on the frontline, urging Kenya’s youth to shun political violence and handouts.

“Handouts have unfortunately become a powerful political tool, especially among young people who deserve far more than temporary relief. When short-term cash is normalised, it creates dependency instead of dignity. The real turning point will come when our youth collectively say: we do not want handouts, we want structural change.

“We want job security reforms that protect workers. We want quality education that prepares us for the future. We want meaningful employment opportunities. We want investment in arts, innovation, and talent development so creativity becomes an industry, not a hobby,” Octopizzo stated.

Boniface Mwangi has also been consistent in his push for good governance and rallying the youth to avoid being misused

“After 20 years fighting for justice on the streets, I’m taking the fight to the ballot box. Running for president in 2027 to build a Kenya that works for us & our kids. This is a grassroots movement powered by you,” Mwangi said while announcing his bid.
