Renowned Kenyan comedian Wilson Muirani Gathoni, popularly known as Jaymo Ule Msee, has opened up and shared the reasons behind his recent conversion to Islam.

Taking to his official Facebook account on Friday, December 26, 2025, Jaymo described it as a deeply personal journey that has brought healing, purpose, and spiritual fulfilment.

In addition, he explained that his new faith has had a transformative impact on his life.

Jaymo also described the support from his Muslim community as instrumental in guiding him through this period of personal growth, providing both mentorship and companionship as he embraced the tenets of his new faith.

“To those asking. My new Islam faith has healed me because my Muslim brothers held my hand and walked with me into my healing, rejuvenating and aligning with my purpose,” Jaymo said.

The comedian further expressed his commitment to his spiritual path, saying he is now faithfully and happily serving Allah.

“I am faithfully and happily serving Allah,” he added.

For Jaymo, the decision to convert was not only a spiritual choice but also a step toward self-discovery and alignment with his personal purpose.

Embracing Islam

In a post shared on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Jaymo uploaded a video showing himself inside a mosque as he underwent the conversion process.

The comedian further expressed gratitude and peace, emphasising surrender to Allah as the foundation of this transformation.

“Today I begin again. A healed heart, a renewed soul, and a life surrendered to Allah. From this moment forward, my steps are guided by faith, service, and purpose. Alhamdulillah,” he wrote.

The decision, described as the result of sincere soul-searching and inner healing, represents more than a change in religious identity. For Jaymo, it is a rebirth of purpose, a conscious choice to live with intention, humility, and service to others under the guidance of Islamic teachings.

He is the latest public figure to embrace Islam, joining a growing list of Kenyan celebrities.

Other celebrities who have embraced Islam include DJ Kezz, Cassypool and Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje.
