Jaymo Ule Msee declares comeback in Nairobi Senator race days after quitting politics

Comedian and content creator Wilson Muirani Gathoni, popularly known as Jaymo Ule Msee, has reversed his decision to quit politics, announcing that he will now contest for the Nairobi Senator seat in the 2027 general election.

In a video shared on his Instagram on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Jaymo said his earlier withdrawal had been influenced by what he described as “dark forces” operating through uninformed elders who advised him to abandon his political ambitions.

“I was attacked by dark forces in the form of elders who I now realise were not experts in politics. They gave advice based on their insecurities, not on constructive experience,” Jaymo said.

He explained that the elders, despite being respected in society, lacked political experience or a record of meaningful contributions to their communities, making their counsel unfit for guiding his decision.

“Before taking constructive criticism, one should ask: what has this person constructed? If they have never built anything or served effectively, their advice cannot guide you,” Jaymo said.

Political experience and ambitions

Jaymo emphasised that his background in political science, including experience in three presidential campaigns, equips him with the knowledge and skills to serve Nairobians effectively.

“I went to school to study political science, I have practised politics before, and my ambition to serve Nairobi is grounded in experience and preparation,” he said.

He also reflected on the lessons of past leaders, citing how President William Ruto succeeded despite opposition and criticism from elders.

“Many were told they could not succeed, yet they persisted. I have learned that respecting elders does not mean following advice blindly,” he added.

Jaymo stressed that his renewed political entry is guided by careful consideration, spiritual clarity, and a commitment to the people of Nairobi.

He highlighted that he will now take advice only from individuals with proven expertise in relevant areas. He assured supporters that his political ambitions are genuine and focused on creating a meaningful impact for the city.

The announcement comes just days after Jaymo said he was stepping back from politics to focus on his spiritual journey.
