Kenyan content creator and comedian Wilson Muirani Gathoni, popularly known as Jaymo Ule Msee has exited active politics and confirmed that he will be contesting for any elective seat in the 2027 general election.

In a video posted on his social media platforms on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Jaymo cited two God-given missions that he wants to focus on as the main reason for his sudden exit from active politics.

“I have listened to elders, I have listened to relatives, especially my uncl,e and so many well-wishers,” Jaymo said.

Jaymo cited his newfound faith, having converted to Islam in 2025 and his role in the Wowzi Creators Council, that needs him to be impartial, as the main reasons for his decision.

“I have decided, because of my newfound faith and spiritual journey that I am pursuing, I need time to reflect on myself and most importantly to be on the mission ambayo Allah ameniita ambapo I have gotten the opportunity to lead the Wowzi Creators Council. That role also requires me to be impartial in my dealings and in the things I want to do.”

He shared that while he has had political ambitions of becoming Nairobi Senator, he has made the conscious decision to quit the race.

“So I have had ambitions I wanted to be Senator for Nairobi, and I have also been posting videos, talking a lot about politics. From today, I am quitting active politics to concentrate on those two God-given missions that I really want to focus on.”

What Jaymo Ule Msee will focus on

He said his focus will be on building more opportunities for creators in his role, being their voice and creating more films.

The content creator added that he will also focus more on his spiritual journey because it requires a lot of learning and needs him to be calmer and more focused.
