By Cynthia Lodite, December 27, 2025Jackie Matubia has revealed why she is not participating in Nadia Mukami’s Woza Woza challenge, explaining she is protecting her brand.
The actress took to her Instagram account in a candid video on Saturday, December 27, 2025, noting that she respects the song and congratulates the artist; however, the challenge is not for her.
“The song just does not speak to me; it is not going according to my brand.” Jackie said.
She further noted that she only joins challenges linked to songs with a message she personally connects with, stressing, “This is not my type of challenge.”
Nadia’s Dera party
Matubia’s remarks come just days after singer Nadia Mukami announced plans to hold a ‘dera’ party commemorating her recently launched song, ‘Woza’.
In a post on her Instagram account on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Kenyan Star announced that she will be having the party on Friday, December 19, 2025. At the time, she, however, did not disclose the location.

At the time, Nadia went on explaining how her Woza song has become a hit, calling on her fans to suggest the perfect location for the Dera party.
“NUMBER 1 SONG IN KENYA 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you to my amazing fans, and most of all, glory to God. 🙏 “DERA PARTY HAPPENING THIS FRIDAY. PLEASE SUGGEST A GOOD LOCATION FOR US TO WOZAAA,” Nadia wrote.
Claims Nadia copied Zuchu
Her party invite came just days after she had responded to claims that she copied Tanzanian star Zuchu in her latest song, Woza, after fans flooded her social media pages with mixed reactions.
The controversy arose shortly after the singer began promoting the song, with several fans commenting on her posts and accusing her of sounding similar to Zuchu.
In a statement shared on her Instagram on Saturday, December 13, 2025, Nadia said she had taken note of the comparisons being made between her new song and other artistes’ music.
She clarified that Woza was neither copied nor sampled from any existing song.
“Dear fans, I have noted the comparison of my brand-new song with numerous songs, and I want to make it clear that I have not copied or sampled anyone’s song,” she said.
