It’s not worth it! Brown Mauzo warns married men against social media lust

Kenyan musician Brown Mauzo has advised married men to be careful about the influence of social media on their relationships, warning that chasing online fantasies can slowly damage real-life marriages.
In a message shared through his Instagram stories on Saturday, March 14, 2026, the singer urged men to remain loyal and focused on their families instead of being distracted by what they see online.
Mauzo noted that social media can easily create the illusion that life is better elsewhere, especially when people are constantly exposed to glamorous photos, filtered lifestyles and seemingly perfect relationships. According to him, many men fall into the trap of comparing their marriages to what they see online, forgetting that most of those images only show a small, polished part of reality.
The musician reminded married men that strong relationships are not built through scrolling, liking, or secretly admiring strangers on the internet. Instead, he said real love grows through everyday effort, commitment and being present for one’s partner.
In his view, the idea that the grass is greener on the other side often leads people to overlook the value of what they already have at home. Mauzo stressed that marriages thrive when partners intentionally nurture them, much like a garden that needs constant watering and care.
He also pointed out that many couples today face challenges because of digital distractions. With phones always within reach, it can be easy for someone to spend more time online than with the person sitting next to them on the couch. A quick scroll meant to last a few minutes can easily turn into hours of admiring curated lives that do not reflect real everyday struggles.
“ADVICE TO MARRIED MEN… social media lust will quietly drain your marriage if you let it. The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it. What you see online is an illusion, not real life. Real love is built at home through presence, discipline, and loyalty. Keep your eyes on your wife. Keep your heart on your family. I promise, it’s worth it,” Brown Mauzo stated.

Advice to women
This is not the first time Mauzo has shared his thoughts on relationships. On December 7, 2025, he highlighted how women often face unfair pressure in marriage, especially regarding family expectations. He wrote:
“Marriage sometimes puts undue pressure on women. A man refuses to provide his relatives with money, and they blame the wife,” he noted in an Instagram post.

In previous posts, Mauzo has also cautioned his followers against comparing their relationships to what they see on social media. On December 24, 2024, he reminded fans that social media often only shows the best parts of people’s lives, leaving out the real challenges couples face. He warned that such comparisons could lead to frustration and unrealistic expectations within relationships.
“Don’t compare your marriage to what you see online. There will always be people who post pictures making it look like they’re having a better time than you and your spouse! Avoid the temptation to make a comparison,” he advised.
Mauzo has also encouraged women to be clear about their relationship goals, urging them not to stay in certain situations for fear of appearing demanding.
“Look your boyfriend in the face and tell him, ‘I’m tired of dating. Wife me up or get out of my future husband’s way,’” he wrote in December 2024.
The musician’s personal life has often been in the public eye. He was previously married to socialite Vera Sidika, with whom he shares two children, before their separation in 2023.
He is now romantically involved with Instagram model Nancy Kabinga and continues to use his platform to speak openly about love, relationships, and the challenges that come with them.
