Karangu Muraya’s brother who has been in ICU dies

Facebook influencer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya is mourning the death of his brother, Joshua Muraya Kagema, who had been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Karangu announced the heartbreaking news in an emotional Facebook post on Monday, August 3, 2026, expressing his disbelief over the death of his brother and recalling a promise Joshua had made to him.
“Dear bro Joshua Muraya Kagema, you have gone too soon. You promised not to disappoint me, but you have done it, bro,” Karangu wrote.
The philanthropist went on to recall the last words Joshua shared with him, saying the memory had remained with him as he came to terms with the loss.
“I remember your last words, Karangu witu, Ngai akuongerere nyingi,” he added.
Karangu then admitted that he was struggling to process the loss, saying he did not know what to do or what to tell their mother.
“I don’t know what to do now. I don’t know what to tell mum. Dear Lord, this is too much for me,” he wrote.
Emotional healing prayer
Karangu’s announcement came only hours after he had publicly pleaded with God to intervene and save his brother, who was still receiving treatment in the ICU.
In the earlier post, Karangu had expressed his determination to continue praying for Joshua, saying he would keep calling on God until his prayers were answered.
“Dear Lord, I will call you until you answer me. Dear Lord, please remember mercy. Dear Lord, please hear our prayers and heal Joshua. Dear Lord, I have been reminding you every minute to heal my brother Joshua Muraya Kagema,” he wrote.
The Facebook influencer and philanthropist said he had personally witnessed what he described as God’s healing power in the lives of several people, giving him hope that his brother would also recover.
Karangu recalled several instances in which he said he had witnessed people being healed, including moments involving Apostle John Paul Muriithi, Teresiah Njeri, Deejay Tripple and Njeru Thiga Kenya.
“I have seen with my own eyes what you have done to many. I saw you when I was with Apostle Johnpaul Muriithi. I saw you when I was with Teresiah Njeri. I saw you when I was with Deejay Tripple. I saw you when I was with Njeru Thiga in Kenya, among many people that you have healed while I was watching,” he wrote.
With those experiences in mind, Karangu had pleaded with God to extend the same mercy to Joshua, saying he did not believe his brother belonged in the ICU.
“Dear Lord, that ICU bed is not a place for my brother. Please remember mercy and heal him. Give me peace by healing him, dear Lord, for the glory and honour of your holy name,” he wrote.
