Ibraah opens up on Diamond Platnumz’s role in his exit from Harmonize’s Konde Gang
By Steve Ireri, April 11, 2026Tanzanian singer Ibraah has shed light on the role Diamond Platnumz played in his decision to exit Konde Gang, addressing long-standing claims that the Bongo Flava superstar influenced his departure.
Speaking during an interview on Saturday, April 11, 2026, Ibraah clarified that while there have been widespread reports suggesting Diamond pushed him to leave the label and was working to weaken Konde Gang, his experience with the celebrated artiste was different.
Ibraah explained that when it comes to public perception, fans often speak on behalf of Diamond, sometimes creating narratives that may not reflect the reality of the situation. However, he noted that his own view of Diamond is shaped by personal experience, describing him as someone who stepped in to help him during a difficult period in his career.
“When we talk about fans, even Diamond’s fans sometimes speak on his behalf. But when I talk about Diamond, I speak of him as someone who helped me during a time when things were hard for me until things got better,” he said.
He revealed that at the time he was struggling within the label, Diamond offered support that played a key role in helping him transition into an independent artiste.
According to Ibraah, the assistance he received enabled him to pursue his music freely and benefit directly from his earnings without being tied to a record label.
“The great thing about the help Diamond gave me is that now, as a solo artiste not under any label, whatever small earnings I get from music are mine. So I can say he helped me where he could, because he is big in the industry and he saw I was facing challenges in that label, which could have stopped me from achieving my dreams,” he said.

The singer further disclosed that one of the most significant ways Diamond helped him was by facilitating access to legal support.
He explained that when he made the decision to leave Konde Gang and go solo, Diamond assisted him in securing a lawyer, a move that made the transition smoother and more structured.
“People also kept asking me why Diamond has not signed me, and I told them that when he feels like signing me, he will, because this is business,” he said.
“It is not a bad thing because he has already helped me to a big extent. In fact, that help is even bigger than being signed to his label,” he added.
Despite the close association, Ibraah addressed speculation about potentially joining Diamond’s label, stating that the two have never sat down to discuss any signing deal. He added that while fans have often questioned why he has not been signed, he believes such decisions are purely business-orientated and should happen at the right time, if at all.
“The help I am talking about is when I wanted to become a solo artiste and leave the label I was in, and he even helped me get a lawyer. But about him signing me, I want to clarify that we have never sat down and had that conversation,” he shared.
