Iam Marwa pleads with fans not to label his future partners gold diggers

Kenyan travel YouTuber Fredrick Marwa, popularly known as Iam Marwa, has called on fans and online users to stop targeting or judging his future relationships, especially by labelling his potential partners as gold diggers.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Thursday, April 23, 2026, Marwa expressed concern over what he described as increasing online trolling directed at people he may date or marry in future.

He said he does not want a situation where, once he introduces a partner, people begin bullying or making negative assumptions about them based on his status or finances.

“I don’t want that when I get my wives, you guys start bullying me or telling them they came to me because of my money. Oh, you are a gold digger,” he lamented.

He specifically urged the public to avoid labelling women he may marry as gold diggers, saying such remarks are harmful and unfair. He stressed that people should be given time to be understood rather than being judged immediately upon association with him.

“Just give people time,” he said.

Marwa also criticised the culture of online trolling, saying he does not appreciate seeing negative comments directed at him or on his posts. He noted that while constructive criticism is acceptable, it should not be delivered in a way that demeans or dehumanises others.

“I don’t appreciate at all when I see trolls on the internet or in my comments. Even if you like me, let people be and give them the benefit of the doubt,” he stated.

He further called for restraint on social media, urging users to allow people to live their lives freely without unnecessary interference or judgement. According to him, not every situation should be turned into a narrative of desperation or material motives.

“If there is something to point out, you can point it out, but not in a negative way that makes people feel less human. Let people be, please,” Marwa added.

Marwa’s remarks come shortly after public discussions surrounding his breakup with Argentinian singer Rocio Cabrera, a relationship that had attracted significant attention online.

Following the separation, he had also spoken about his preferences in relationships, sparking widespread debate across social media platforms.

“I do not date villagers,” Marwa disclosed.

The YouTuber explained that his lifestyle as a frequent traveller has shaped his expectations, saying he needs a partner who can match his exposure and way of life.

“Just marry a fellow villager,” he said, adding that people should choose partners within similar levels of experience.

“A fellow villager who does not know how to book a flight, and I am a traveller.”
