‘He was my mentor’ – MC Full Stop’s son Andy opens up about his 2025 tattoo
The son of late reggae MC and media personality MC Fullstop, Andy Ngeru, has opened up about the emotional meaning behind his “2025” tattoo, saying it is a daily reminder of his father’s influence, guidance, and legacy.
In an Instagram post on Monday, May 11, 2026, Andy explained that the tattoo has become a personal symbol of purpose after the loss of his father, who passed away in 2025.
A lot of people, he said, have been curious about why he chose to permanently mark the year on his body.
“A lot of people have been asking the reason I have my 2025 tattoo. My dad passed last year, and my dad was my biggest mentor,” Andy said.
He described his father not just as a public figure but as a constant source of direction and support throughout his life.

“I will not be the person I am today if it were not for my dad, MC Full Stop. I used to look up to him every single day. If I had any problem, he always had a solution on how you are going to move forward,” he added.
Daily reminder
Andy said the tattoo serves a deeper emotional purpose beyond memory; it is a grounding reminder of discipline and focus.
He explained that every time he looks in the mirror, the tattoo pushes him to stay intentional about his life and future.

“I decided every day when I look at myself in the mirror, I’ll have this tattoo that will remind me of my purpose every day and to focus every single day,” he said.
MC Fullstop, whose real name was John Maina, was a key figure in Kenya’s reggae and dancehall scene, known for his energetic voice and strong presence on radio and stage.
